Whiskey Sour

A well-balanced cocktail with the sweetness of sugar, the tartness of lemon, and the rich flavour of whisky

Ingredients

  • 2 oz whiskey (bourbon or rye)
  • 3/4 oz freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1/2 oz simple syrup (adjust to taste)
  • Ice
  • Lemon wheel or cherry for garnish (optional)

Steps

Fill a cocktail shaker with ice.

Add the whiskey, freshly squeezed lemon juice, and simple syrup to the shaker.

Shake vigorously until well-chilled.

Strain the cocktail into an old-fashioned glass filled with ice.

Garnish with a lemon wheel or a cherry if desired.
